BABY FRIENDS is geared towards parents expecting a baby with Down syndrome and parents of children that are newborn to age five. The children, siblings, and grandparents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The focus is on our newest and youngest members, getting to know one another. and sharing knowledge. Our meetings are informal and fun. With time to socialize and enjoy being with each other’s children. Please come and share your ideas, support, and parenting ideas with others. Dream Tweens group is comprised of children between the ages of 6 and 13yrs. The group’s purpose is to provide social and informational activities throughout the course of the year for both the children and their families. The children enjoy the fun activities, which are designed to enhance physical and social development. We encourage parents, grandparents, family members and friends to attend as well. TAMPA BAY TEENS Group is for fun outings that are planned for those ages 14 – 17yrs with Down syndrome/Special Needs to meet and enjoy each other’s company while participating in a range of activities. The purpose of this group is to provide socialization within the community and opportunities for friendships to develop. Dancing for Donations
Our purpose is to offer an all-inclusive dance environment for kids and adults, while supporting the community through donations instead of charging for the dance classes. Dancing for donations has openings for new dancers! Free classes in exchange for donations to charitable organizations. March Down Syndrome Day Picnic
In celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. DOWN SYNDROME WEST FLORIDA will celebrate the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome at our annual picnic.
A Free lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, fruit, soda, & water will be provided. Enjoy cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones. The pool is open! Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen.
Meet your favorite Superheroes and Princesses, while the fun guys from Ghostbusters show off their cool Ecto car. Darth Vader and the Star Wars 501st Legion will show you the ways of the force. Julie Hirsch Photography will be catching all the fun with her awesome photos!

June Down Syndrome Picnic
In honor of Down Syndrome Awareness F.R.I.E.N.D.S. DOWN SYNDROME WEST FLORIDA will celebrate the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome at our annual picnic at the Seminole Recreational Center in Pinellas.
Lunch is provided with FREE subs, chips, fruit, soda, and water. Bring your bathing suit and enjoy the pool. Let the kids loose on the awesome playground or let the little ones enjoy the water pad. FDSWF Halloween Party
Come joins Friends Down Syndrome West Florida for a spooky fun night of dancing at our Halloween Dance party! FDSWF will be providing pizza, soda/juice, cookies, and lots and lots of CANDY!!! Enter the FDSWF Halloween costume contest and win a great prize. Chuck Eckhart, our awesome DJ, will be providing the tunes.
Want to be part of the Pinellas Park Christmas Parade? Join us for a night of fun and to advocate for our Down Syndrome community. The parade steps off at 6:00 p.m. at 58th Street and proceeds eastbound on Park Boulevard to The Shoppes at Park Place. Handicapped Seating is available at Taylor Family Funeral Home located at 5300 Park Boulevard. The seating area is only accessible from 53rd Street via 70th Avenue. Featuring bands, floats, soldiers, dancers, equestrian groups and much, much more!
