BABY F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (Birth to 5yrs)PLAYGROUP
FDSWF Down Syndrome/Special Needs Playgroup is geared towards parents expecting a baby with Down syndrome and parents of children that are newborn to age five.  Siblings and grandparents are welcome and we encouraged them to attend. The focus is on our newest and youngest members, getting to know one another, and sharing knowledge. Our meetings are informal and fun, with plenty of time to socialize with other parents and to enjoy each other’s children. Please come and share your ideas, support, and parenting ideas. (6yrs to 14yrs)PEER GROUP
A peer group comprised of children with Down Syndrome and Special Needs between the ages of 6 and 14yrs. The group’s purpose is to provide social and informational activities throughout the course of the year for both the children and their families. The children enjoy fun activities, which are designed to enhance physical and social development. We encourage parents, grandparents, family members and friends to attend. SUPER F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (For all ages)

Boundless Global a nonprofit that comes together to champion for our youth.  They will learn to Be Brave, Be Kind, and Be Extraordinary! The focus is to provide F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and other special needs superheros the tools to be kind, make the right decisions and help others believe they can be super too! In celebration of World Down Syndrome Day FDSWF will celebrate the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome at Painting with a Twist, March 21st and The Born To Ride March 23rd events.  Enter our Rock Your Socks Contest, to win a $100 gift certificate to The Columbia Restaurant!  See our website calendar and Facebook events page for more information.

Conectando Amigos Latinos fue creado para ayudar a las familias latinas que tienen un ser querido con síndrome de Down. Por lo general se reúnen cada tercer jueves del mes para las actividades sociales e invitar a los oradores invitados para hablar de temas que afectan a nuestras familias. FDSWF participates in the Brandon 4th of July Parade to celebrate our country's independence and to advocate for our Down Syndrome Community. Join us as we ride in our Boat Float, throwing candy and passing out FDSWF information to the crowd. Costumer's with a Cause Superhero"s & Princesses and Ghostbusters will be joining us.


Come celebrate the value, acceptance, and inclusion of people with Down syndrome at our annual picnic.  A Lunch of subs, chips, watermelon, and drinks is provided.  Enjoy the pool, let the kids loose on the awesome playground, and watch as they squeal with delight sliding on the water pad. Don't forget your sunscreen! Meet your favorite Superhero, Princesses, and Ghostbusters from Costumers with a Cause. Julie Hirsch Photography will be catching all the fun with her awesome photos!


Every October, FDSWF sends out October is Down Syndrome Awareness month flyers, FDSWF Brochures, and Parent Packets to eight different West Florida hospitals along with a bucket full of candy.  We will choose a individual from our group to be featured on the flyer and would love for you to send us your picture. Submit your photos to info@friendssupport.org starting in September of your loved one dressed in a Halloween costume. Thanks for helping us spread the word!

Join us for a spooky night of dancing at our Halloween Dance parties! One in Hillsborough and one in Pinellas are planned. FDSWF provides the pizza, drinks, and fun, you provide the dancing! Enter the FDSWF Halloween costume contest and win a great prize. Chuck Eckhart, our awesome DJ, will be providing the tunes, while Julie Hirsch will be capturing your Boo's photos. Costumers with a Cause will be joining us, meet your favorite Superhero, Princess, and Ghostbuster!


Happy Holidays! You are cordially invited to fun evening of dinner, dancing, and good F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  Enjoy a FREE Italian Buffet dinner provided by Little Italy's Restaurant.  The kids will love the cookie decorating, Face painting by Lolo, and fun photo booth.  Julie Hirsch will be taking your Holiday pictures with Santa, Queen Elsa & Princess Anna.  Chuck Eckert our fabulous D.J will provide the tunes for dancing.  Costumers with a Cause will delight us with their Superhero's, Princesses, and Ghostbusters.  Don't forget to buy your raffle tickets for a chance to win some awesome prizes.  Wear your Ugly Sweater for a chance to win a wonderful prize and bragging rights for a year.  Please bring a dessert for all to share. Santa will be bringing each child and individuals with Down syndrome a small gift, please go to our F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Facebook page to RSVP your child, please state your child's gender and age.
